Shelley Patrick ’87 — from skepticism in the beginning to connection and purpose through Hyde School’s values.

I attended Hyde School for their Summer program 1985 and then attended grade 11 and 12 graduating 1987. During my time at Hyde I did not experience or witness any type of abuse. Were we held accountable for our actions? Yes. Did I join what was called work crew or 24 , yes. At the time I didn’t fully buy into the philosophies, but I was able to hone in on my love for sports as did many others , we had do a daily chore , partake in a sport and performing arts, many students tapped into their new found passion due to this. I now love attending Hyde School reunions and listening to other alumni’s amazing accounts of how their experience at Hyde was positively life changing.
