Over three decades later, I still remember Joseph Malcolm Gauld defining character as, “what you do while no one is looking.” After raising three children, who are now well into adulthood, I have more perspective of the crucial necessity of developing the intrapersonal relationship to form healthy interpersonal relationships.

While it is true that times change—fundamental values, ethics, and character do not. Hyde’s approach of developing adolescents into young adults is holistic and focuses on foundational concepts that have withstood the test of time. Altruism, hard work, contributing to team are essential principles for life that Hyde strives and succeeds in instilling within the students and families.

At face value, failure brought me to Hyde in the early 1990s— I now know, beyond a shadow of a doubt, it was a keystone in my life, which in many ways, has been beyond my wildest dreams!

One of my mentors in life taught me that, “…the reward for good work is more work.” In that vein, Beloved Hyde—keep up the good work.
