A Hyde School Parent’s Perspective

This reflection comes from parents who embraced Hyde School’s Family Learning Center and found growth for the whole family through Hyde’s values.

Dorothea and Paul Bergeron, Hyde School parents, hiking out West—grateful for how Hyde’s philosophy of courage and integrity continues to guide their family.

Over thirty years ago, our son and daughter attended and graduated from Hyde School. Through the Family Learning Center (FLC), we as parents were encouraged and challenged to integrate the Hyde philosophy into our family life. Incorporating courage, integrity, leadership, curiosity, and concern into our lives—individually and together—was often difficult and uncomfortable, yet it always led to growth for each of us.

The Hyde experience strengthened our family and deepened our bonds with each other. The journey was sometimes rough, but we are immensely appreciative and grateful for the transformation that came from our Hyde years.
